This is the story of .NU. We have collected all important events from year 2000 and through to today.

| 2000 | The US-based IUSN, has since 2000 acted as manager of the ccTLD .NU, without consent nor approval by the Government of Niue. |
| 2000 | Niue law regarding the ccTLD.NU, the Communications Amendment Act 2000 no 251, enacted by the Niue Parliament. |
| 2000-2013 | Six consecutive elected Governments of Niue have declined the IUSN to act as manager of the ccTLD .NU in the period from 2000-2013. Several efforts to communicate with the IUSN in good faith, has been made by The Goverment of Niue, with no reaction from IUSN. |
| 2013 | The Swedish Internet Foundation took over the management of .NU from IUSN, without consent nor approval by the Government of Niue. |
| 2013 | The Government of Niue sent formal protests to IUSN and The Swedish Internet Foundation stating that The Swedish Internet Foundation are not allowed to operate .NU without valid permission. |
| 2019 | (The case is ongoing…) The Government of Niue filed a lawsuit, in order to have the court to establish that The Swedish Internet Foundation are not allowed to operate .NU without valid permission. |
| 2020 | (Pending…) The Government of Niue submitted a extensive request to ICANN, for revocation and redelegation of the ccTLD .NU, to the .NU “Registrar to be”: Top-Level Domain Management AB. |
