.NU is the top level domain for Niue. The TLD is currently operated, without any valid permission of the government of Niue, by The Swedish Internet Foundation. A lawsuit is pending in the courts of Stockholm, Sweden, to establish that The Swedish Internet Foundation are not allowed to operate .NU without valid permission.
When this lawsuit has been settled, operating the TLD will be handed over to us – the “Registry to be” for .NU. We are preparing the transition, and are working with all existing Registrars, to make sure the change will be seamlessly completed.
Technical Management and Policies
All technical and administrative management will remain in Europe, and no policies will be affected.
.NU domain owners will not be affected
It is very important for us to state, that we guarantee that current .NU domain owners will be affected by this in any way. Your .NU domain name will continue to function exactly as you have been used to.
